In addition to the “Position Bid” feature they have added, they have made some needed changes to the free version of phpLD.

Though phpLD version 2 is a free version, that does not mean we don’t try to improve it and update it!

Here is a short list of improvements and fixes we have made:
1. People were sometime getting false positives about “link already exists”, and a fix has been applied to stop this from happening falsely.
2. An improvement was made to the payment system to prevent a possible spoofing attack.
3. Additional checks were added to prevent remote submissions (spam). In constants.php you can check to allow empty user agents or not. We advise “not”.
4. Fix for alphabetical sorting
5. There has been an improvement to pagerank checking, and you will find it works on many more servers now!

To update a modded version of phpLD use a program like winmerge to compare and copy over changes to the files listed as changed

if using a non moded directory simply upload all files except for /include/config.php

No need for install to be ran again as there are no database changes on this update.

There is now a new version of phpLD that allows you to run a site that allows people to bid for position on their links. While this is still new product, it seems to be working flawlessly for people that have tried it so far, and it even seems people are making money from it already.

Not much review for it yet, but i’ll have a look about and see what people think about it.

I keep forgetting to post about this, but the latest version of PHPLD is available to get your hands onto.
I’m currently using 3.2.0 for a new project I’m working on and I’ve got nothing but good reviews for it!

Just thought I would go ahead let everyone that we have at last release version 3.2.0. We went through something like 9 beta versions before making the release, and feel this will be something that everyone will like. Here are a few of the enhancements found in version 3.2.0

1) Articles in Categories using FCKED Editor
2) Language Editor using AJAX
3) Contact Us Mod
4) Ban Word
5) Quick Subcategory Adder
6) Improvements to PageRank checking
7) Redesigned admin panel

And much more!

Please keep in mind that many people will be upgrading at the same time and there may be some periods where we have a lot of requests coming in at the same time. If you are upgrading, please be sure you have a full backup before proceeding. You should be prepared to revert back should there be a problem.

I’ve not had any reason to use the Language Editor yet, but it looks very promising for users targeting a more global market.

One part I have found very useful so far is “Contact us Mod”. With this, I have struck a few extra deals and offers with other web masters in promoting, who knew such a little thing could affect you in so much a manor.

And finally, witch I’ve found very useful in this version is the improved Mod Rewrite support, its giving you more choice on how you can handle the Mod Rewrite and it’s proven itself to be very useful in a SEO point of view.

I did a little experiment with this, I set up two sites. One with mod rewrite and one without, I then submitted them both to Google and as expected, the one with mod rewrite worked!

So guys, if you’re going to get this latest version, don’t forget to have your Mod Rewrite on!
